Artist Statement
I create encaustic and mixed-media paintings that explore the tension between industrial surfaces and organic forms. My work is built up in layers of wax, oil, and found materials on wood panel.
Materials & Methods
Process
Each piece begins with a wood panel and layers of encaustic wax. I build surfaces through a process of heating, scraping, and re-layering — adding oil paint, graphite, and found materials along the way. The result is a textural surface that carries the history of its making.
