Encaustic Polkadot Bowl Painting | Mixed Media Abstract Art, 8x10

This abstract mixed-media encaustic painting uses multiple layers of encaustic wax painted on a wood box frame. Graphic details are printed on silk and incorporated into the encaustic wax. The incised marks I made with various tools. An oil paint stick is then used to wash over the painting. The oil paint fills in to the incised marks. The oil wash is then wiped off to reveal the rich surface details. Since this is wax it is recommended that you keep this out of direct sunlight.
